On the road again....

We're leaving tomorrow to take Zach to school and we'll be gone about a week and a half...So another blogging break for me. We're stopping along the way to visit a few friends and family members. One great thing about military life...we have friends all over the country! :)

I don't have any quilty pictures to show...hopefully, when we return from our trip I'll be back to sewing. I know I'll be ready! My sewing room is set up enough to sew anytime I'm ready! Oh...I did drop my machine at the LQS to be serviced while we're gone, so I'll have to pick that up first! I figured this was the best time to have it done...while I was away from home and couldn't sew anyway! :)

I thought I'd share a few other pictures with ya...Quilt Inspector Extraordinaire, Smokey, has a new perch in this new house. This little space is between the entry way and the living room...he can keep his eye on everything from here. Usually he is sitting in what seems to be a little bit uncomfortable position...but sometimes he likes to stand in case he has to jump and run to check out any situation that may arise. :)

This picture is from the old house when the packers were there. They use this thick brown paper to wrap up some things that don't go into boxes...and Smokey decided to use his best quilt inspector technique to test it out. I think he prefers the quilts, don't you?

This cute little guy is Alexander. He is DH's third cousin...I think! He's the grandson of his cousin...so who knows what that works out to be. He's about 7 weeks and just a little cutie! Doesn't he just look like he's all boy?

Hello from Idaho!

We've been in Idaho exactly a week now! Our trip went extremely well...no problems to speak of. Nothing significant broken or lost by the moving company. Yay! We have most of the boxes unpacked, but things aren't ready for pictures just yet. :)

Look what my friend Peggy sent us to welcome us into our new home...aren't they beautiful and perfectly patriotic?! Thanks Peggy! We took a bit of a break today and went to a nearby lake. The "boys" rented jet skis and had some fun in the sun. I had fun watching, but I also enjoyed some time under a tree reading my book. :) This is Strike Dam Reservoir. The Air Force base owns/runs a marina with boats, waterskis, jet skis, etc., available for rent and nice little picnic/camping areas. You can see from the photos, that's it's pretty much desert here, but where they water and plant trees and grass, it can be really pretty. We'll be on the road again in a few more days...taking Zach to school. :( We're making a bit of a road trip out of it and will stop and visit family and friends along the way. We'll be back at the end of the month and by then I know I'll be ready to get back to quilting!

Hope you all are having a fun summer!
~Michelle

Quilt Room in a Box

Today is Day 1 with the packers and it's going pretty smooth. They have about 50% of our things packed up. They will be back tomorrow to finish. I thought I'd share what my sewing room looks like now. I like what my friend Robin called it...."Quilt Room in a Box." :)
It's kind of sad seeing my "stash" packed up in boxes, but I'm looking forward to getting it all set up in a my new sewing room! Stay tuned for "after" pictures!
