Remember these?

I finally finished the pumpkin pincushions that I started almost a month ago! All I needed to do was sew the back and fill them up! What was the delay?
Anyway, they are done and ready to swap! These are big guys too...they took about 3 cups each of walnut shells to fill. My daughter said they remind her of playing bean bag toss. LOL

Snow Stuff

It feels like anything but snow outside this week. We must be having an Indian Summer or something, because it feels like a heatwave out there! I don't like it one bit either! I was thoroughly enjoying the cooler air and my sweatshirts and sweaters.

This past weekend, we camped near Lancaster, PA. It was absolutely gorgeous! The trees were beautiful with their red, yellow, and orange leaves. I took these pictures with my phone and they just don't show how beautiful it was.

The tree on the left was so red, it was almost glowing!

The Amish farms were so pretty tucked in amongst the rolling hills and fields.

Of course, I couldn't resist a picture of one of the many buggies that are found
throughout this region.

It was a great weekend!

As for quilting, I've accomplished a couple of things recently. This is month 4 from my Snow Days block of the month. There is a lot of stitching with these blocks! Just when I think I have the block completed, I realize there is more to do. For example, after I took this picture, I realized that once I sew block 4 to block 3, there is more of a tree on the left side of the block to trace and stitch. You should be able to click it twice to get a closer look.
There is a lot of detail on these blocks! They sure are fun though and I really am enjoying the process. Don'tcha just love that little truck?!
This next project is a gift for someone very special to me! I hope she likes it. It's a freebie pattern found here. I think it turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

Hope you all are having a happy, quilty week!

Thank You!

Thanks to all of you for voting for my scrappy quilt! :) I didn't win, but definitely had a decent amount of votes, so I'm happy!

I'm home from an exciting weekend in New York City. A good friend, Susan, celebrated her 40th birthday and her wish was to see the Broadway show Wicked. It was an amazing production! The storyline is so clever....I'll never think of the original Wizard of Oz movie the same way again! Here we all are before the show started. We were trying to do a "self portrait" but none of us had long enough arms to get all of us in the picture. The lady behind us finally felt sorry for us and offered to take a picture. LOL A funny thing, another lady in front told us we were having too much fun and we better quiet down before the show. Really? Did she think we didn't know that? LOL

Some of you that have followed my blog awhile, might remember the Fun Friday girls from Idaho. We've all since moved away, but two of these ladies are my Fun Friday friends. Susan, on the left and Kristen, in the middle with the turquoise blouse. They both live in Virginia now. I'm so happy they are close enough for us to get together occasionally. Theresa, in the reddish top, is another friend of Susan's from Virginia.

We stayed at an amazing hotel in the city, had some yummy food, walked for miles and miles, did some shopping, and laughed our heads off. It truly was a wonderful weekend I will never forget!

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Vote for me!

I entered one of my scrappy quilts in the Quilting Gallery's weekly contest! If you are so for ME! :) I've never done anything like this, so it's feels weird to "put myself out there," you know?

Here is the link to the voting page. My quilt is the one called "Log Churning."

Pumpkins, Table Runners and Candle Mats, oh my!

Wow! What a great response I've had to the Fall into Fall Giveaway. I'm so excited to meet new quilters out there in blogland! I'm sorry I have not responded to all of the comments, there are just too many! They are all saved though and I will be posting the winner on Friday!

I've finished a couple of projects, so I thought I'd give you a little peek. The first is a Thimbleberries table runner. This one was quick and easy to's not really seasonal, but I think it will definitely be nice for fall/winter time.

Next is a candle mat for a good friend's birthday. I love the little Bareroots Candle Mat patterns...I've made three of this birthday pattern so far! I found a cupcake scented candle to go with it. No calories!
Another view without the candle.
Another project I finished up were these cute pumpkin mug coasters. They were quick and fun...I finished all of these in an afternoon! You can find the free tutorial here.

I'm excited about the weekend coming up...a few girlfriends and I are going to New York City and going to see Wicked. I know it's going to be lots of fun!

Fall into Fall Giveaway!

Today is the day! The start of the Fall into Fall Quilt Bloggers Giveaway! If you are new to my blog, welcome! If you are a faithful friend, welcome back! BTW...this is also my 200th post!! I didn't even know I was close until I opened my blog to make this post! Another great reason to have a giveaway! :)

These are the goodies I am giving away. A few oldies, but goodies patterns, a woolfelt pincushion handmade by me and a small zipper bag that may or may not contain some "sweet" yummies! (okay...they aren't in there yet, but that's because I'd eat them before you had a chance to win them!!)

My giveaway rules are simple...just leave a comment! All I ask is that there is a way to contact you, if you are the winner. You do not have to have a blog and international visitors are welcome! If you are set to "no-reply," you must leave your email address in your comment. That's it! You only need to enter once and I will pick a winner on October 15th.

Good luck and have fun blog hopping!!

Contest closed! Thanks to all who entered! The winner will be announced shortly!
